Bhojpuri film industry has mostly been ruled by non-Bhojpuria actresses, and most of them have started their career with Bhojpuri Superstar Ravi Kishan. Yes, be it Nagma, Rambha or Sweta Tiwari, everyone started-off with Ravi, and here is one more in the list. Usha Paudel, a Nepali actress has joined Bhojpuri film industry with film "Saathi Re", and she is going to play lead with Ravi in her first movie itself. In this film, Ravi is playing the role of a Medical student, and Usha is his beloved. "I can't believe my luck. This is my first Bhojpuri film, and I am working with the top actor in the industry. In Nepal, Bhojpuri is pretty famous, and I hope this film will become a new milestone in Indo-Nepal cultural relations", says Usha, with a big smile on her face. Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishan is perhaps the only actor, who has won "Best Actor" award for fourth time in a row. And, that’s not all; his film "Bidai" dominated the awards function, with five awards. His Bhoomiputra is also doing good business. Here is the summery of a detailed interview with him:

What does Best Actor award mean to you?

It is an honour, and there are so many people involved to make it happen. Can you imagine a film to be successful, if the story is not good, or if the director has not worked hard to make it happen? Right from the director to a spot boy, everyone dedicates his effort, to make it happen. Apart from that, I would like to thank audience for continuously encouraging my work.

There are rumours that Bhojpuri film industry is in trouble, what do you say?

Who told you...? There is nothing like this, and I believe that industry is riding high with several new people joining it every day. Hundreds of films are being made, and many films are getting successful as well. There has been some effect of global slowdown, but it won’t last long. There are some people, who are spreading various kinds of rumours, we should not take them seriously.

Please tell us about your Hindi films?

I am doing many big-banner Hindi movies, and Mani (Maniratnam) Sir's "Ravana" is biggest among all. I am playing the character of Abhishek Bachchan's younger brother in Ravana, which is treated as the biggest film of year 2009. Apart from this, I am doing LUCK with Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Da, and Imran Khan. There are a few other projects including "Welldone Abbaji".

What about Bhojpuri movies?

Bhojpuri films have always been my priority. As you know, my "Bhoomiputra" is doing quite good, and "Rangbaaz Daroga" is almost ready for release. Apart from this, I have just finished shooting of Udit Narayan's "Kanoon Hamra Mutthi Mein", and "Saathi Re". There are many more films, which are delayed due to un-availability of dates. I am planning to finish a few of them in next three months.

You had started a Production House, what are the plans?

I am going to announce a few films very soon. Also, I am planning some television serials. My first film "Bihari Mafia" did good business, and I am trying to devote more time for my production house.

Sunil Pal in Bhojpuri film industry

In past couple of years, many big actors from Bollywood and television have joined Bhojpuri film industry, and the latest to join the trend is Sunil Pal - famous comedian and winner of laughter challenge. Now he is doing two films in a row to announce his entry. One of them is "Kanoon Hamra Mutthi Mein", which is produced by Deepa Narayan Jha and is presented by famous singer Udit Narayan Jha. And, his fans will be delighted to know that Sunil has also danced on one of the songs in this movie, apart from his usual comedy. "It's a nice movie which is being made by one of my favorite singer Udit Narayan, so there was no question of denying the offer. Remember Manoj Tiger, the famous comedian of Bhojpuri film industry? Manoj, famous for his role as Batasha chacha in Nirahua Rikshawala, is now going to apppear in a very colorful role in forthcoming Bhojpuri film "Prem ke Rog Bhail".He is playing a teacher in this film, who is very careful about his costumes in class. For example, if he has to teach about Mughal Era, he gets himself prepared like a Mughal Emperor. "This was a very challenging role, and I enjoyed it like anything. Bali seriously injured; admitted to Hospital

famous director, actor & choreographer Bali got seriously injured in Surat during picnic tour. Bali was there to celebrate the success of his first film (as lead actor) "Munnibai Nautankiwali".
Bali slipped when jumping from diving board of a swimming pool, and got serious injury in neck, nose, and head. He has been admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital at Surat, where his situation is reported to be critical. Bali is known as one of the finest directors in Bhojpuri Film Industry, with several hits including “Dehati Babu”. Apart from direction, his roles in films like "Sasura Bada Paisawala" and "Dehati Babu" has been widely appreciated.
